Carolyn Fredeen
Care Coordinator
Carolyn Fredeen is an RNA (RPN) graduate from London Ontario and worked in healthcare for 13 years - 10 of which were in a large London Psychiatric Hospital and 3 at Winchester Memorial Hospital working on both geriatric and surgical wards.
While raising her two daughters, Carolyn’s career took a major change when she became a partner in a retail furniture store. She enjoyed the partnership as it allowed her to exercise her flair for decorating and her love of working with the public…two of her passions.
Later Carolyn accepted the Care Coordinator position at a church where she remained for 10 years. Her compassion, concern, gentleness and kindness towards fellow church and community members were instrumental in helping meet people’s specific needs.
As a member of the "sandwich generation", Carolyn has experienced the many concerns that arise when looking after elderly parents. Over the last few years of taking care of her parents in a retirement home ‘from a distance’, she realized that there were many needs that could not be fulfilled by the regular staff, by herself or her siblings who lived in the London area.
The idea for Cornerstone Community Care blossomed from Carolyn’s realization that if she and her family needed additional assistance to adequately meet her parents’ needs, then there must be many more families who required help as well. Her desire is to provide her elderly clients with the loving, compassionate and respectful care and support they deserve to make their final years as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.
